Psylocibe have been active since the year 1999. Starting off at rave-parties they soon became known for having played in several of Italy's best known clubs and playing at livegigs together with well-known artists from the Italian and European electronic-music scene.
In 2004 they published their self-produced debut, selling more than 700 copies.
Tugging at the borders between digital and analog techniques, experimenting and improvising, Psylocibe's live-sets naturally are of eclectic and diverse nature. From the most minimal and concise electro-beats to DnB's broken rhythms, from the linear and powerful sounds of techno to relaxing downbeats and nu-jazz they all have their place in Psylocibe's music.
Playing live means no computer, no CD's or DAT-tapes on stage, adding to their unique and enchanting approach to sound: expressing a certain vision of electronic music, using a midi-realtime-setup and all their gear live on stage. Psylocibe's equipment consists of analog synthesizers, drumcomputers and samplers.
Probably Italy's most important and creative band on the experimental electronic live scene at the moment, Psylocibe usually receive a lot of positive feedback from their audience for their unique live-mix of samples and sounds accompanied by Segnaleinterrotto's live visuals.
